Our story

Rubi Ace is an Australian artist creating on Wadawurrung Country in Ballarat, Victoria—a land of shifting light, long silences, and ancient presence. But to speak of place is only to scratch the surface of being. Rubi moves not only through landscapes, but through memory, emotion, and the shadowed spaces between what is known and what is felt. Their practice is not confined to canvas or copper—it is a slow, painful, and holy act of becoming.

Self-taught and soul-led, Rubi creates through oil and acrylic, through wire and stone, never beginning with a fixed idea but with a question, a weight, a whisper. Their paintings—moody, raw, and emotionally charged—serve as mirrors to the unseen inner self. Their wire-wrapped creations are meditations in motion, intuitive and deliberate, each one a small vessel of thought and spirit. These works are not made to impress, but to reveal; not to speak loudly, but to speak truly.

For Rubi, art is not a luxury, but a necessity. It is a dialogue with the divine, a reaching out from the depths of confusion toward clarity, toward grace. Having wandered through years where identity dissolved into silence, Rubi now approaches each piece as an opportunity to gather what was lost, to forgive what was broken, and to find communion in solitude. Their creations are not products—they are offerings. Questions. Prayers.

To create is to remember that we were never meant to be whole in the worldly sense. Rather, through the fragments—through wire, stone, and brush—we shape something more enduring than perfection: truth.
