Our story
Rubi Ace is an Australian Artist, residing and creating in Ballat, Victoria. They enjoy painting with acrylic, oils as well as creating with copper and semi precious stones. To Rubi art is an expression of the emotion, and usually is used to express inner dialogues and as they put it “give their hamsters and outlet to speak”
Rubi creates with passion, and gets fully immersed in the process. Through their moody landscapes and expressive figure work Rubi lets out all their emotion come out. Rubi’s paintings allow them to find themselves as they lost the concept who they were during the decades.
The idea of finding one self, rediscovering their likes and dislikes is strong thematic for Rubi. It is cathartic process, that allows Rubi to let go of their pain, hurt, accept love, friendship and compassion in their life.
Rubi as an artist attempts to understand themselves as well as piece together the shards that the life has left behind.
Rubi enjoys weaving wire, and embedding their thoughts in it to make their final piece. They do not begin with the vision in mind, but the final piece is intuitively put together and it eventually gets uncovered from the dream. Each piece takes several days to craft, involving a lot of patience and skill.
Rubi is self taught artist, undertaking only basic formal training by obtaining their diploma in Interactive Digital Media.
