s00048 yellow jade pendant

Title: "Apricot Sun & Sea Salt Dreams"

When I was l small wild creature of the Adriatic — a girl with long, honey-tangled hair and skin browned by sun — I would leap barefoot over stone fence into the neighbour’s yard in Makarska. There, hidden from sight, I’d climb their old apricot tree, clawing my way up to where the fruit turned gold-red from too much sun, where no one else dared to go. I’d eat them till my belly swelled with ache —  sweet juice slipping down my arms, onto my shirt, soaking my legs, my feet blackened with bark and dirt. I’d crouch there quiet, high in that tree’s secret cradle, listening to waves crashing, children laughing, some far-off dog barking. Those moments... they etched into my blood like copper into fire.

This pendant — yellow jade, copper-wrapped with aching care — it calls something from then, even if it not speaks it outright.

The yellow glows like those apricots I loved too much, that almost hurt to taste.

I shaped this with steady hands on a tired winter evening, the copper warm beneath my fingers like old memories, like sunbaked stone. It twisted how it wanted, not always how I wanted. But that’s part of beauty, da? To follow where material leads, to surrender a little.

It wears like a story — close to the skin, resting gently on collarbone, whispering: you are still that child, climbing. Still wild. Still sweet. Still stubborn.

Please excuse my English, it is bit wonky sometimes. But heart, that part always speaks clean.

📍 Made in Ballarat. Forged by memory.

⚒️ One of kind, as all things should be.

🌿 Lightweight, earthy, real.
