s00027 - moonstone pendant

"A Shard of Moonlight and Memory"

Sometimes, in the stillness between days, I remember my grandmother’s hands — not delicate, no, but strong, honest hands, always occupied with something useful. She taught me that beauty should do something. Not just sit idle in glass cabinets. It must be touched, worn, warmed by the skin.

And so I made this.

Wrapped in warm copper, this pendant cradles a sliver of raw moonstone — cloudy like thoughts before sleep, lit from within like a whispered secret. The dark flecks you see are black tourmaline inclusions, scattered like small interruptions — like the flaws in our days that somehow make the whole story more meaningful.

No two stones are the same, just like no two of us carry our burdens alike. I wound the wire slowly, not because I am slow, but because I believe time shapes things better than ambition. Each curl and clasp is my conversation with the material — and if you listen close, perhaps you will hear it too.

This pendant is not made to impress. It is made to accompany. To sit close to your pulse and remind you that you are real, flawed, radiant. It is not perfect. But then again, who is?

Photographed against soft petals and silk — an old curtain I cut for this purpose — because beauty also needs softness to lean into.

If you hold it in your hand and turn it just so, it might catch the light in a way that makes you forget your sadness for a moment. That alone feels worthy of the effort.

(P.S. I not even sure this photo does justice — but we try our best, yes?)
